Jack Dorsey admits Wednesday that Google is not his favorite search engine. Instead, the Twitter CEO revealed that he uses the DuckDuckGo search engine.
“I love DuckDuckGo. It’s been my default search engine for a while. The app is even better, ”he wrote on the social network. While praising the search engine, Jack Dorsey sent the barb to the most popular search engine – Google.
The official DuckDuckGo account responded immediately to the compliment. “It’s good to hear that, Jack. Happy to have you on the “Duck” side, it can be read followed by a duck emoji.
Privacy is DuckDuckGo’s great commitment
DuckDuckGo is a search engine based on 2008, and its main commitment to user privacy. Your slogan is really “Privacy, simplified.”
You refuse to profile your users, and set aside personalized search results. It is clearly stated as a more privacy-focused alternative than Google.
As we all know, Google uses users’ search data so that advertisers can tailor their ads. However, as noted by users, they are far from being at the same level.
In publishing, users recognize the privacy achieved by using DuckDuckGo. But with this comes more narrow searches, and Google results are considered much more relevant overall.
