As with Instagram, Facebook and Messenger are testing a feature that will allow you to share certain content only as a restricted circle of friends.
This feature is known as “Friends Close” on Instagram, and it seems to work the same way in this test. It was discovered by researcher Jane Manchun Wong, and already confirmed by Faceboook to TechCrunch.
The goal is that you can assign certain friends to your circle. Whenever you want to submit a Story that you don’t want to see exposed to everyone, that’s where you can make use of the feature.
Facebook says that unlike Instagram, this is not a way to restrict who See Story on Facebook. However, it is still a way of doing so, as it is probably in this social network that you have the oldest contacts.
Functionality is still in the development phase
Please note that this is a feature that is still under development. Facebook has not yet officially started testing it internally.
At this time there is no prediction of when the feature could reach the general public, or if it will be abandoned along the way. But for those who use the Stories it will certainly be something to value.
