Sony just confirmed its finally working on the upcoming Playstation 5.

Although there have been  many speculations about the successor of the PS4 floating around online for years, this is the first time the Japanese gaming firm has confirmed the project itself.

Unfortunately, the PlayStation 5 might not be the revolutionary new home console that we all might've been hoping for

According to Sony CEO,

"At this point, what I can say is it's necessary to have a next-generation hardware."

It actually makes sense that Sony is looking to build new gaming hardware, givingen that PlayStation accounts for more than 23% of the firm's total annual profits.

Microsoft is also working on a new Xbox Console. According to Xbox Chief, Phil Spencer -

"The same team that delivered unprecedented performance with Xbox One X is deep into architecting the next Xbox consoles, where we will once again deliver on our commitment to set the benchmark for console gaming".

Microsoft also unveiled Project xCloud, which allows players  stream Xbox One games on their PC, tablets, iOS and Android smartphones

However the PS 5 Might not have much of a difference when compared to the PS4.

Expect to see this console at the E3 in 2019
