Good News For Android Users As Google Slams Mobile Companies With New Regulation

You know those mobile companies that sell their device to you and abandon it without sending updates, all that is about to change as Google has enforced a new regulation regarding companies using their Android operating systems.

Google has asked  that manufacturers who wish to keep running Android  must provide OS updates for at least two years. According to Google -

“Security updates are mandated within the second year as well, though without a specified minimum number of releases."
The contract covers any phone launched after January 2018 that has been “activated by more than 100,000 users”.

I believe this new regulation is impressive considering the fact that companies release phones and dump it forever without sending a single OTA update. It's quite unfortunate that most brands in Nigeria are guilty of this.

To be honest, When last did you get an update on your phone?
