I have held and handled a lot of budget smartphones throughout my Tech blogging career and believe me this device is one of the best I have handled do far. iTel launched this device a couple of weeks ago and the main selling point is the massive 4000mAh battery and dual cameras.

The way iTel packaged this device is a testimony of how the device feels – a premium budget phone packaged in a premium way. In this case the popular adage “you don’t judge a book by it’s cover” is definitely incorrect. It strikes up instant curiosity at the sight of it.
Nevertheless, I believe you would all want to know what is in the box so without further ado let’s get into unboxing the device.

The device as you can see looks premium and the metallic build coupled with the case gives off that aura of a premium smartphone and looks absolutely flawless. Of course even the best of smartphones come with a little flaw but so far I haven’t seen any in this device but if i discover any I’d add that in my full review

iTel decided to opt for a non-removable battery this time and I’m not surprised because it’s a pretty large battery capacity (4000mAh) and using a removable battery would look really awkward.
The sim slots are Micro Sim card slots.

The 3.5mm headphone jack is still placed above the device while the charging port is placed
below the device.

Here is a quick rundown of the specifications –

  • Android Go 8.1
  • 16:9 Aspect Ratio Display
  • 1GB RAM (Note that Android Go phones running on 1GB RAM are quite fast and don’t lag also the chances of it being updated to Android P is very high)
  • Dual  Rear Cameras 5MP+5MP with Dual LED Flash
  • 5MP selfie camera with LED Flash
  • 4000 mAh Battery
I’ll be writing a full review soon and publishing a full review video on my channel too as well so don’t forget to check back. The iTel P32 costs N26,000. If you want to order the device click the link below

Budget phone or not , this device will certainly be the beginning of a new chapter in the iTel P series line up and might even give mid-range smartphones a stiff competition.

Please let  me know your take on this device in the comments, I’d really appreciate it and if there’s any question you have about it feel free to leave a comment I’d look into it and add it in my full review.

Xiaomi Launches In Africa To Compete Against Tecno, iTel and Infinix

Published

Xiaomi

A couple of months ago Xiaomi Global Spokesman Donovan Sung made a post about their new store that launched in Spain and also asked for suggestions on where they should launch their next store and here’s what I said.

Xiaomi Launches In Africa

This means the expansion of Xiaomi had been on the cards for a while.

If you have been following up Xiaomi for a  while, you would know that they tend to compete on the foreign market rather than their home country China due to the congestion.

Now, the company is looking to take things to the next level and come to Africa.  On Sunday, Xiaomi announced the establishment of their African Regional Department and Wang Lingming (Xiaomi’s VP) was appointed as the manager of the department.

Xiaomi

At the moment, in Africa we have over 1.2 billion people but the smartphone usage isn’t really too high and many people still use feature phones and because of this some phone brands don’t really do well in Africa. At the moment Transsision Holdings rules the African smartphone market with its three brands – itel, TECNO, and Infinix ranking at the very top in Africa in terms of market share.

In 2019, the Africa will become one of  Xiaomi’s main pioneers in their international business, and their biggest rival here is Transsision Holdings.

What I Think About Xiaomi Coming To Africa

Xiaomi Redmi

Xiaomi has everything it takes to succeed in Africa especially if it starts off with its recently established Redmi Brand. Redmi already have one of the core features that is missing in all the Transission brands – high quality specs at a low price. You can see how successful the Redmi Note 7 has been so far and we can guess how much the price would have been if it was a Transission product.

Transsision basically takes advantage of the mid-range and low-end smartphone market which is a strong competitive ground for Xiaomi. I believe this would also boost competition among the two brands.

Windows 10 Mobile is Dead

The support for Windows 10 phones have just ended.

Windows 10 Mobile is Dead

Although It’s very sad to see the Operating system go out of fashion, there’s nothing we can do about it. Microsoft has already confirmed that it is officially killing off support for the OS. I actually knew this would happen at some point but I didn’t know it would be this soon.

Windows 10 Mobile is Dead

So if you’re still using a Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile phone, you have less than a year to upgrade to something else preferably an Android Phone.

Windows 10 Mobile Is Dead

Windows 10 Mobile is Dead

Microsoft has already published a support page detailing Windows 10 Mobile’s upcoming End of Support.

According to the company, Windows 10 Mobile users are no longer eligible to receive updates, including security updates, from December 10, 2019. Devices that are running Windows 10 Mobile version 1703 will no longer receive support even earlier — on June 11th, 2019.

So immediately it gets to the end of support date some of the features on the device will slowly stop working and Microsoft won’t do anything about it.  Automatic or manual device backups will end on March 10, 2020.

With this notice, Microsoft just hit the final nail on the coffin of it’s mobile operating system

Alternative Option For Windows 10 Mobile

“Microsoft’s mission statement to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, compels us to support our Mobile apps on those platforms and devices,” the company said, recommending users to move to an Android or iOS device.
