The smartphone sports a “Full” Super AMOLED Ultra FullView screen of 6.59 inches with a screen-to-body ratio of 91.24% and a screen resolution of 2316 x 1080 pixels.
All sensors in the device are hidden underneath the screen. So instead of speaker grills, you get Screen SoundCasting technology that promises good sound quality.
Due to the narrow frames surrounding the screen, Vivo needed to create a unique solution for the front camera so one of the highlights of this smartphone is a camera that hides in the frame itself. In this way the user only needs to activate it in the camera application and it is revealed. This process is controlled by precision motors. Now that’s something we haven’t seen before.
Vivo’s new phone also introduces fingerprint scanning beneath the screen. According to the company, it increases the screen unlock time by 10% and improves its operation. On the back is a dual camera setup – a 12-megapixel sensor, f / 1.8 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilization and a 5-megapixel sub-sensor with f / 2.4 aperture.
It also comes with the Vivo Game Engine, which was developed in partnership with Tencent Games. The goal is to provide a more immersive gaming experience based on software and hardware optimization. At the same time, it is also optimized to run games developed with the Unreal Engine engine.
In parallel, Vivo NEX also has 7.1-channel 3D audio. The Vivo NEX smartphone will be available in three variants. The top-of-the-line model, called Vivo NEX S, comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. To this is added the Adreno 630 graphics card, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
The mid-range variant has the same specifications as the top-of-the-range variant, less in storage. In this model we found 128 GB of capacity.
The cheaper variant of the three, called Vivo NEX A, comes with the recently released Snapdragon 710 from Qualcomm along with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. All models are powered by a 4.000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging bracket. Connectivity options on the devices include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) 2 × 2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS and USB Type-C.
These smartphones come equipped with the company’s personal assistant, Jovi, which works with artificial intelligence technology. It supports various features such as intelligent map reading, encyclopedia, shopping, translation, among others.
Vivo NEX will be available in two color options – Black and Red. The top-of-the-line model has 8GB of RAM and will cost about 780 Euros. The average range is around 700 euros. On the other hand, the cheapest variant costs around 600 Euros.
Vivo deserves a lot of accolades….I have only one wish
Tecno Phantom 9 is on its way
Just in case you still haven’t heard, Tecno Mobile posted a teaser of their next addition to the phantom series. This was posted on their Facebook page about last week Tuesday.
The phantom series is considered to be Tecno’s top innovations, their flagship lineup. Always incorporated with the best hardware & features from the Chinese company. The phantom 9 seems to be following the same sequence.
From the teaser, we supposedly got a few hints (not sure if this is the right word) of what to expect before it is finally revealed. And it has a couple of impressive specs I’d say.
Here are the following specifications from the teaser;
• 6.4 inch Full view AMOLED display
• Android 9 – the latest android version
• In-display Fingerprint sensor
• 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM
• AI triple camera with dual front flashlight
• 3500mAh battery
I think Tecno needs to be reminded of what a teaser mean, because at this point, you’ll have to wonder how this is a teaser. Permit me to called it a spoiler instead.
What else do they have in store? They literally listed every spec we care about in a smartphone today. Well, only time will tell.
