Apple Officially Unveils The iPhone X Alongside Other Amazing Devices [See Photos & Price]

Apple unveiled a couple of pretty amazing devices today including the iPhone X. Apple CEO, Tim Cook has finally put me out of my misery and confusion

.

Err.. I thought it was pronounced iPhone "Ex" but it's actually iPhone "Ten".

If you are reading this right now please forgive my curiosity. I tend to be very curious. It's in my
C.V. 😁 😁. (Note - Currency Conversion is done in 🇳🇬 Nigerian Naira)

I still have another question for Apple though but that'll be at the end of the post. I'd also love to know your thoughts on the question in the comments. In the meantime, here's what Apple unveiled today.

Apple Watch Series 3

What I like about the next series of the Apple Watch (Apple Watch 3) that was unveiled today is the fact that's it's quite independent like a couple of Android Wear watches. The watch supports data connection so it can send and receive messages, browse the internet and play songs from Apple Music without being connected to an iPhone. It also comes with Siri and has a 50 per cent better battery life. It can also make calls. Thankfully, it's still the same size as the watch 2. I'd have been really disappointed if it was bigger.

Cheers to that

Unfortunately when it comes to price, I'd gladly rate Apple 5 stars any day on coming up with exorbitant prices for their devices. The watch will cost around N127,000.

"127k" for just a watch.. 😂 😂. Seriously, Tim Cook

Apple TV 4K

This was actually the second thing I really wanted to see and I'm quite impressed with what I've seen. Apple's smart TV box is a little bit similar to Android TV.
And guess what?

It supports 4K Movies

Users can purchase the movies from iTunes.
If you're a huge sports fan, you'll love this as it will also have live sports as well. There will notifications before games and during. Live news will also be a part of the TV app. All notifications can always be turned off.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus sport an all-glass body and comes in silver, space grey and a new gold colours. According to Apple, the glass is reinforced with a steel and copper structure and is "the most durable ever in a smartphone".

Well we'll have to see about that when users start making use of the phone.

The devices have 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch retina displays and run on Apple's A11 bionic chip.

The iPhone 8 comes with a 12MP rear facing camera that is more powerful than that of the iPhone 7. The iPhone 8 Plus comes with a dual-lens 12MP camera.

As expected, the new phones now support wireless charging. You can place the phone on an inductive surface. It works on the Qi wireless standard, which Apple says it will help expand to public spaces such as airports and cafes.

The thing I'm actually worried about here is the fact that Apple didn't announce its own wireless charger

Why?...

However it'll probably work with third party wireless chargers. That means you'll have to get the wireless charger separately.

The iPhone 8 comes in 64 GB and 256 GB variants and will cost around N265,000. The 8 plus comes in the same variants and costs around N303,000.The devices will be available for order from September 15 and in stores from September 22. iOS 11 will be rolled out from September 19.

The prices above though. 😧

iPhone X

The iPhone X is the highlight of all the products launched today. I really love the design. It's a complete redesign from the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple actually joined the smartphone trend of bigger screens with smaller bezels. I'm wondering if they dumped the home button because their closest competitor Samsung removed theirs.

It features a new OLED display that's more colorful than the LCD screens Apple used in earlier iPhones. According to Apple its a Super Retina Display.

The Super Retina Display supports HDR and 3D Touch support.

In case you're wondering how to get back to your home screen without the home button you'll have to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to return home. That gesture also allows you to multitask - swipe up and pause, and you can multitask and switch between apps. You can call Siri by saying "Hey Siri" or simply pressing the side button. It also supports wireless charging.

For unlocking the phone Touch ID has been dumped for FaceID. The 3D front-facing camera learns what the owner looks like and is only wrong one in 1 million times. It will come in 64GB and 256GB variants with prices starting from N385,000. It will ship from November 3.

Any Head Phone Jacks?

Nope... That ship has sailed for Apple obviously

My Verdict 💡

I'm really impressed with the device. Apple did a great job. However the devices are still quite expensive, though I'm not surprised. It's not uncommon with Apple products. However, if you've got the money to get the device it's definitely worth it. Take it from me, I'm actually #TeamAndroid but I'm definitely impressed with this. I'll still prefer a Galaxy Note 8 to an iPhone because I think Android is simply better than IOS.

Here are other images from the event

Now back to the question I had.

Is The Next iPhone Going To be iPhone 9 or iPhone 11
