Ntel 4G network Data Plans and Compatible Devices 1
The Ntel 4G LTE finally hits Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria and it would
take some couple of months before Ntel 4G LTE reaches some
other states in Nigeria. However, a customer who
purchased the sim did some speed test on it and was able to
get up to 55.13Mbps on downloads and 24.40Mbps on uploads.

Recently, Ntel 4G then released fair usage policy on their unlimited
data access, because there is certainty that most individuals are
likely to use their unlimited data access for commercial purpose
which is against their fair usage policy.

According to Ntel, “customers likely to be affected by this policy
are those who generate large volumes of traffic; often have file-
sharing software or peer-to-peer/torrent apps on their phones or
tablets; and download large-format files such as music, videos and
movies consistently”. However, it’s also noted that any customer
who uses above 3GB data daily would be slowed down to 512bps,
if done continuously might get disconnected or blocked.
So if you play by their fair usage policy, only then you’ll get to know
the value of the unlimited data bundle they offer. Let me quickly list
their data plans, tariff plans and prices along with compatible
smartphones.

1. Ntel Smart phone starter offers unlimited data access,
unlimited SMS with 30mins voice call which is valid for 3days. This
offer goes for just N1,000.
2. Ntel Standard plan offers unlimited data access, unlimited
SMS with 70mins voice call which is valid for 7days. This offer
goes for just N2,400.
3. Ntel Monthly plan offers unlimited data access, unlimited
SMS with 300mins voice call which is valid for 30days. This offer
goes for just N9,000.

Compatible smartphones includes Obi Sf1,Google Nexus, INJOO MAX2, HTC ONE TecnoBoom J8, TecnoCamon
C5 , Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge , Infinix Zero 3 and Infinix Note 2
(2GB Ram version). Since the listed smartphones are 4G LTE
enabled smartphones, then I’m pretty sure that their plans is
compatible with every 4G LTE enabled smartphones.

What do you think? Will you quit MTN, Airtel, Etisalat & GLO for this
offer. NTEL 4G
LTE brings a more tempting offer in contrast with smile and spectranet , although their usage policy
seems to be a little strict. Anyway, after some period of test, We’re
pretty sure that their fair policy usage would be lifted.

See List Of Countries With The Cheapest Data Plans , You Won't Believe Where Nigeria Is 11

Normally when it comes to cheap data plans I always tell people that Nigeria is one of the countries with the cheapest data plans in the world and I haven’t been too far from the truth. Take a look at at this graph from Statista.

Countries With The Cheapest Data

Countries with the cheapest data plans

Nigeria ranks 4th in the list of selected countries with the cheapest data plans.

While a gigabyte of data would set Italian smartphone users back $1.73, the same amount would cost $2.22 in Nigeria, $2.99 in France, $6.66 in the United Kingdom and $6.96 in Germany. Costs are even higher in North America where they average $12.02 in Canada and $12.38 in the United States.

So should we give our Network Providers some accolades for giving us the cheapest data plans in the world?

Nope. Definitely not worth a standing ovation especially if you check the fact that we have one of the slowest 4G speeds in the world.

Nigeria’s top 4G speed is placed between 9.5Mbps and 16.2Mbps, while Algeria’s slowest speed of 2.6Mbps is the worst in the world.

However here’s the plot twist, the country with the slowest 4G speed – Algeria’s top download speed of 16.4Mbps still beat the fastest speeds in Thailand (11.7Mbps), India (14.6Mbps) and Nigeria (16.2Mbps).

Now I feel they only deserve the accolades for constantly zapping our data. Nevertheless I feel ISP’s in Nigeria can definitely do better than this.
