Facebook Just Added An Extra Way To Secure Your Account But Is It Really Worth It

Some websites offer two-factor authentication as a security measure to keep user accounts safe. It could be by sending a code or password to the user through SMS or by E-mail.

Facebook has decided to increase account security by introducing USB 2 Factor Authentication. The new method allows you to insert a USB that contains an encrypted key when logging in to your account . In this way, it is necessary to have a physical element that is virtually irreplaceable. The process to verify your identity is the same as with the methods described above, except that the new system will require introducing USB instead of code or password sent over the Internet.

To get this USB authentication, it is necessary to have a USB U2F type. It costs around $20.

Personally, I don't like 2 Factor Authentication. I lost access to my bitcoin account because of a 2 factor authentication issue. Another question is what of if the USB stick gets missing. You're probably going to be locked out of your account for a while.
