Google Earth Is Now Available In Virtual Reality

Let's be realistic here: we live on an amazing, fascinating and most of all a beautiful planet. While some of our fantasies lie in what's in space, I think that we should really take some time to appreciate what we're standing on. It's totally  impossible that  one person can see all that this world has to offer, which is why Google Earth is so cool.

Today marks the next step for exploring our world  by adding the virtual reality element with the appropriately named Earth VR.

This evolution comes with some really neat features. You can fly over towns, cities, mountain ranges, and lakes — or out into space itself. Since there are about 197 million square miles to cover, Google has offered up some handpicked sights and tours for your viewing pleasure.

The app is available for free on Steam and is exclusive to the HTC Vive for now. Other platforms will be added next year, according to the blog post
